Neil Diamond  

Neil Diamond was born 1/29/41 in Brooklyn New York City. Vocalist/ composer/Guitarist. With Roadrunner folk group. 1954-56. worked as a song-plugger/staff writer in New York City. Wrote for the Monkees TV Show. First recorded for duel in 1961. Wrote the score for film "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" starred in and composed the music "The Jazz Singer.

Neil Diamond – A&E Live By Request

Neil Diamond performs live at New York Sony Studios, with fans on the phones and on the Internet requesting the songs he’ll sing. The singer-songwriter will likely receive requests ranging from such early tunes as “Cherry Cherry” and “Sweet Caroline” to “You Are The Best Part Of Me” the first single from his “Three Chord Opera” CD slated for release the Tuesday before this show tailoring a set to spontaneous requests doesn’t faze Diamond, who says “I’m not worried too much. I don’t expect perfection in this performance, I’ll just give it my best shot” And Diamond’s “Best Shot” has been more than good enough for 35 years
